I also got to speak yesterday at the @IATSE Quadrennial Women’s Committee Caucus about @Local871, the @reelequity campaign, #IALivingWage and all the organizing our members have done. Really killing it with the screenshot facial expressions this week.

So while we continue to organize towards true pay equity we find ourselves, with the support of the @IATSE and our union kin in the 13 hollywood locals, fighting for the bare minimum of an #IALivingWage in the current negotiations, which resume July 6th. 10/

#3:The industry should undertake a thorough review of pay for male and female dominated crafts in light of its obligations under California and federal law and correct any inequities spoiler alert ... the AMPTP didn't give a shit and have done a total of nothing to address it 9/

#2:L871 crafts are paid 100s or even 1000s of $ per week less than counterparts in comparable male-dominated crafts, even though CA’s Fair Pay Act generally requires equal pay for men & women performing substantially similar work & federal law bars gender discrimination in pay 8/

Conclusion 1: A long history of gender segregation & stereotyping-& a current culture of gender bias & sexual harassment in film & tv production-affects the work opportunities available to members of these female-dominated crafts and how the industry values their contributions 7/

We help their projects run, we see the money they spend elsewhere. Coordinators have adapted to an enormous amount in the last year to get us all back to work and keep us working safely. The studios & shows absolutely have the money to pay us. It’s time for an #IALivingWage 13/13

Being on enhanced unemployment last year was one of the most financially beneficial times of my life. Literally better to be unemployed during a terrifying pandemic than it’s ever been to be a script coordinator. The whole industry should be embarrassed by that. #IASolidarity
