been asked a few times why i'm buying doodles when 'they don't really do anything for holders' it's a fair question, and i don't think it's coming from a bad place the honest answer is that burnt toast's art has always made me feel something that's difficult to put in a spreadsheet value exchange in nfts is one of the strangest things i've ever tried to define both on a personal level, and in projects i have worked on it depends on when you bought, what you paid, how long you've held, what you expect, what you've been promised, whether you're here for art, community, speculation, technology, the list goes on... or because a cat in a toy soldier's hat made you feel something, which is a sentence i never expected to write humans are odd personally, i keep coming back to the projects that keep showing up. bayc, pudgy, meebits, gvc, claynos, chimpers, hvmtl, azuki, birbs, rekt, quirkies, deadfellaz, and many others not because every launch is perfect not because every campaign lands not because every holder agrees not because every idea makes sense but because the people behind them care enough to keep building, and show up that's surprisingly rare do i think my doodles are buying me a yacht? almost certainly not although if they somehow do, i'd like it to be unnecessarily small, with excellent towel warmers and deeply average british style catering, based off the coast of italy would i like to see more communication, more clarity, and a little more showing up from the doodles team? absolutely, i'm greedy like that, and I have a fangirl crush on figge, luca, and weitsman but i also believe burnt toast genuinely cares about what he's creating i've always felt that in his work, you can feel his creative soul in everything he touches. what he executes is always intentional and i believe he's surrounding himself with people who care too that counts for something if this entire space went to zero tomorrow, there is one collection i'd happily hang on my wall and never regret buying doodles because eventually the speculation of a new campaign or drop fades, it always does and what remains is the art, the community, the memories, and one simple question did it make you feel something? for me, that's always been the point, the memories of the journey, the fun at the theme park, the friends along the way nfts for the win art for the win communities that keep showing up for the win and the people who keep building when it's easier not to i know not everyone will agree with this, and that is totally fine we all have our paths to walk and the fact i've been messaged about buying doodles, also shows me people care, which i adore collect what moves you, build what matters, win together. whatever projects we are all in, it's one shared space. championing each other is more important than we all probably think
