With Polling Stations now closed, I wanted to thank everyone that voted and campaigned for change in Glasgow South West. Our campaign started in early 2023 and ended with the final ballots being casted for Labour in stations up and down GSW #VoteLabour #GE24 #GeneralElection2024

@GaryMcAllister For me number 3 is the big prize - but only if it does integration with structured data in the EHR well

@liambarker @jamie_wallis I’d love it if we got to state where these massive proformas weren’t needed at all - all the info is there in the London Care Record. @jamie_wallis let me know if this is something I can pick up in the GSTT-Primary Care liaison group

Is it ever acceptable for a hospital referral to be rejected over a year after it was put in because there isn’t enough information on the form?! (For what it’s worth my colleague’s referral was very detailed) I think that is pretty shoddy even if ‘the service has experienced a significant increase in demand and we are looking at interventions we can put in place to improve this’. Perhaps they will explain this to patient instead of us now having to tell them? However, it again illustrates the simple fact that every service in the NHS is struggling to deal with the current dire situation. Imagine if you were that patient 😞 #NHSCrisis @wesstreeting @VictoriaAtkins @mtpennycook @natalieben @libdemdaisy @LabourHealth @LibDemHealth @carolvorders @GaryLineker @joelycett

🧵Today we published our analysis, commissioned by @jrf_uk, which reveals that people living in poverty find it harder to live healthy lives, harder to access #NHS services, live with greater illness and die earlier than the rest of the population. kingsfund.org.uk/insight-and-an…

@jamie_wallis I totally agree it’s far from ideal! It’ll be difficult to fix Docman issues & some of the basic formatting quickly, but we’ve definitely got to get the unnecessary stuff out of letters. Working on it - please feel free to drop me a line

I really despise Epic letters. We used to get a few from UCLH. Now local hospitals - both KCH and GSTT - are using Epic too. They are too busy and have too many pages of redundant information 😔

A common question: what can we, in health care, do about the social determinants of health. The answer in this report: a great deal. Health care organisations can be active partners to act on social determinants to prevent illness and reduce inequalities.
Matilda Allen@MatildaREAllen

A report I wrote with @DrDominiqueAllw & @Mimi_Malhotra for @UCLPartners is out today - showing that hospitals have an important role tackling the social determinants of health. Four inspiring case studies show us not only why this is important, but how it can be done...
