Today we’re releasing Reflect Open, a complete rewrite of Reflect for the age of AI. It’s local-first and open source, and every note is stored as a Markdown file on your computer.

@crsmoore Yes you can do this today. Look for 'skill' under our settings.

@reflectnotes Are there any plans to allow us to use our local Codex, Claude, Cursor, etc subscriptions, similar to Zed, Synara, Conductor, etc? This would make things much more affordable so you don’t have to pay API costs (which aren’t subsidized).

The original Reflect is staying around, so nobody has to move before they’re ready. The desktop app will remain free. We expect to charge for mobile after the beta, and existing Reflect subscriptions will carry over.

Google Cloud has a big outage right now. Reflect relies on Google Cloud extensively, especially Firebase, and as such we are also down. You can track the status of this issue on the Google Cloud status page. We do apologize about this! status.cloud.google.com

@TylerCushing @reflectnotes I need an iPad app, and @reflectnotes currently does not have one. I do most of my reading after hours on an iPad.

I'm getting back on the note taking wagon with @reflectnotes and getting super into it. I tried note taking apps a few years ago, and they weren't quite there yet ... at least, not enough to get me to switch away from my text editor. But, Reflect is super powerful, and very low friction. Nice job by @maccaw and the team
