If you’ve been here with me for a while, you already know how open I am about living with Lupus. I was diagnosed with Systemic Lupus Erythematosus ten years ago, and it has shaped so much of my life in ways I’m still learning to navigate. That’s why this matters to me. To the non-disabled people who want to do better. The ones who are passionate about disability inclusion but do not know how to start. The ones who care, but sometimes pause mid-sentence and think, “is this the right way to say this to a disabled person?” I wrote this guide for YOU. Because I’ve been there. I stepped into disability inclusion work with good intentions, but without a clear guide on how to communicate with care. I had to learn, unlearn, and relearn many words I assumed were harmless. Before You Say That is the guide I wish I had. It’s simple, clear, and straight to the point. A practical dictionary of disability-inclusive language that helps you navigate everyday conversations without overthinking it, with better understanding, better wording, and more awareness. This book is available for free download, and it has been tested across disability communities to make sure it reflects real experiences, not assumptions. @sennamu_xx @AngryRedInc Something similar with my sister. We went to the hospital 13 times in 12 months but because she had Lupus they disregarded her stomach pain. A new Dr at the ER decided to give more testing against insurance policy and found what was later diagnosed as pancreatic cancer.

@AngryRedInc Omg!.. my heart hurts.... this has made me so incredibly sad..This is so fucking horrible!!! I am so so Sooo sorry for your loss. The same happened to my daddy!! Over and over!! and finally way too late was diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer! He passed in septemeber 😠 😢

Cigna just sent my dead wife, who succumbed to cancer last August, a DENIAL letter for a test to help diagnose her tumor markers. WTF is even going on with medical insurance companies? She left this world 6 months ago BECAUSE she couldn't get proper treatment. We don't hate these people enough.
