We went to a dinner as a group and had a $500 bill. We tipped $40. We were happy we can be able to give our server something, but her reaction was the opposite. She told us she assumed we're going to give her at least $120. When we asked for the manager, she said she was just joking, but she wasn't smiling at all. Idk, but is $40 tip enough for $500 bill? @usanewshq I've got to laugh when you say that the USA could have won the Vietnam war if necessary, you were no where near winning anything out there, that's why you pulled out. You were done mainly by villagers and peasant farmers who were able to adapt much better than you.

During the Vietnam War, Viet Cong fighters often used “spider holes” which are tiny, camouflaged pits just big enough for one person to squat in, hiding for short periods during patrols or ambushes. They’d dig a narrow hole about 3-4 feet deep, then craft a lightweight cover from bamboo, dirt, leaves, and grass to blend perfectly with the jungle floor. The fighter would hold the lid above their head while crouched inside, breathing through a small bamboo tube if needed, staying invisible until the moment to strike or escape. These were super effective for quick hit-and-run tactics because they were simple, portable, and nearly undetectable by eye. US forces countered with scout dogs trained to sniff out human scents, booby traps, or disturbed earth, which often revealed these hidden spots and saved lives by alerting patrols. VC would sometimes sprinkle chili powder or soap around to throw off the dogs’ noses, or simply abandon them if spotted. When discovered, soldiers would flush them out with grenades, smoke, or send in “tunnel rats” for close-quarters combat, though these holes were more for evasion than full networks like Cu Chi. The United States could have won the war if necessary, but these elaborate tricks and others played a significant role in the decision being made that continuing was no longer worth it.
