Hot take: the CIG developers are more frustrated than you are... Backers are simply that, and can pivot to other games when bugs are rampant. The developers are more passionate about their creation than the consumer. Our inconvenience < developer frustration. Breathe.

I am still not sure what to make of this. It is definitely cool looking, but it does not fit the Origin brand. The price is pretty much in-line with what we thought. I think it sells well, but definitely is on the strange side for me.

This is what I keep coming back to. So many companies in the US and Europe, driven out of the printer business over the last few years. Each one was its own thing, there was a place for everyone, and we were all friends sharing innovations across the industry. Now everything is just a copy of a copy of a copy 📉 I'd do anything I can to make that possible again. I miss a lot of my friends from this business.

@GamewithDave Gabe Newell of Valve is highly praised for stripping away ownership with the online only platform "Steam". People love to bow down for a greedy corpo. And they are held hostage: you cant leave without giving up what you paid for.

They removed CD/DVD drives from devices. They made physical media harder to buy and use. They removed expandable storage from phones. They pushed us into streaming subscriptions. They made always-online normal. They made unlimited internet necessary. Then slowly raised the price of everything. Ownership quietly became renting.
