@gothfujoshi1 It was certainly a choice to spend so much on JoIan in the final season yet so little on actually developing TJ despite him being eg, just to keep the LT alive. Anyone with brain would feel robbed of time time and money reading this ending.

@AprilGhafa Really? Usually BL manga are quite short, only a few volumes. Also if you just buy digital volumes instead of episodically & use coupons it can get quite cheap. Not sure about merch though but in general I feel manga is much more affordable than manhwa

This is not true at all. An ending is an integral part of any story cuz everything builds up towards it. Why do think Game of Thrones is so hated now despite having great earlier seasons? Look at Code Geass, every thought SS2 was mid but its ending cemented its legendary status

@reinavanth Exactly! What's wrong with calling out a bad ending? Most people don't even care how rushed or poorly executed it is cause they never really cared about the story. All they want is for their favorite character to be endgame.

I did. By saying everything you said is projecting what tj did to Ian onto Jo, and I don't think a tj stan should be telling anything about abuse.

@Pitchqoi If that's the case then it shouldn't be framed as something so romantic and positive. Domestic abuse is horrific and has consequences. If anything these scenes should be in black and red for making the victim come back to their abuser, not them smiling in their small brick house

No, but this is the most realistic ending. They have too much history. There's this thing where victims of abuse keep going back to their abusers. If you read this story through that lens, you'd understand. It would have been more surprising if Ian and Jo ended up together.

@PANDlTA That's not disputing that's deflection. Did Jo continued to have sex with an unconscious YW and came on YW face? Did Jo choke YW unprovoked? I never dismissed what TJ did to YW because I can actually hold each character responsible for their action. So...

why do tj stans get so insulted by people acknowledging what tj did as abuse? simplest example: did he or did he not put him in a dept that jason of all fcking people said youngwoo will break himself trying to pay it off to which tj said yes, thats the point, he is buying time?

A bad ending, as in illogical and going against everything previously built up, can totally ruin a story entirely. It's especially bad when it's a long running series because fans invested time & resources into it.

@Manhwitas As things are now it seems Ian lied to Jo regardless, either by straightup lying about not going back to TJ, or lying by omission by not clarifying he will return to TJ after spending some time alone. If so, he has been cruel to Jo until the very end. Jo deserves better.

#WetSand Here’s my observation about something that happened in the story. Ian knows that TJ lied to him — I’m not the one saying it, TJ himself says it (“I lied to you about this and other things too”). So far, so good. If we have good memory (I even posted about this a while back), in the hospital chapter where Ian kisses TJ to shut him up, in Ian’s inner monologue he says something like: “Don’t say it or everything will be over” / “I know I’d be able to forgive you easily, but I wouldn’t be able to stand myself.” So, if TJ and Ian are the endgame (which is what it looks like), that leads me to two possibilities: 1) Ian already knows the full truth and still stays with TJ? If the answer is yes, then it breaks the narrative logic where Ian said that finding out the truth (and he was only referring to one at that moment — imagine knowing all the rest) would end everything. That wouldn’t be coming true. And if that’s the case, Ian would be carrying yet another wound because he himself said he wouldn’t be able to bear knowing the truth. Therefore, he wouldn’t have healed his trauma or his wounds at all. 2) If Ian, despite knowing TJ has lied to him, still prefers TJ to stay quiet, then Ian hasn’t learned anything — because that would just be sweeping the garbage under the rug. I’m sure he couldn’t live with the uncertainty of knowing there’s a truth out there (and it’s more than obvious that their relationship would then be built on lies). That would also break the story’s logic, which is Ian’s personal growth and overcoming his issues. In other words, he wouldn’t have healed his wounds either, because knowing there are lies involved could be painful and end up destroying that relationship. And there’d be that eternal distrust of “what if…” On the other hand, we’ve seen that Ian never lies. So the idea in his inner monologue that “coming back when I can finally reach you” was a lie to himself… Up until now, all the promises Ian made to Jo have been kept: “Let’s go to the camp, you promised me,” “We’ll come back someday” (and they did, even under bad circumstances), “I’ll come back” (and he did). The only promise he broke was the one about leaving together, but he made himself another promise: to come back when he’s already “within reach” of Jo. Seriously, is he really not going to keep that one? Anyway, this is just an observation. At the end of the day, this is only a manhwa and @dkbyak can do whatever they want with it. I just wanted to point out this curiosity.

the way my worst fear for ws wasn’t even a tjian ending but a terrible, choppy, rushed one that wouldn’t handle ian’s healing with the care it deserved or tie up most of its loose ends and somehow all of that ended up happening

@reinavanth In real life we know it's But I don't think we'll see anything like that in Wetland. After that "I love you," TJ will pull down his pants, they'll suck him off, and then he'll fuck him. Afterward, they'll sleep cuddled up and then each go back to work.

@JoLandipasta Exactly! It takes 2 to tango. Ian is again compromising himself to match TJ, but it was shown TJ's ego was the problem from the beginning. If TJ hasn't worked on that, no way they would last
