Many of my close friends smoke weed, play video games and sit at home doing nothing. None of them are invested in stocks or crypto. They’ve never invested. Most are Swiss. They call crypto a scam and prefer to work 9-5 jobs, getting high. Weird.

🚨NOT A BOOOOOOOOOM🚨 This is not good for $XRP and Ripple. The BIS Project Mariana documentation specifically names the ERC-20 technical standard as the platform for CBDC development. The Hybrid-Function Market Maker service is provided by Curve V2. There will be two EVM-based smart contracts that handle domestic and international payments. Contrary to what some X accounts are peddling, there is zero mention of XRP, the XRPL, or Ripple in the BIS documentation. As a long-time supporter of the Ripple mission and what is possible on the XRPL, this isn't very reassuring for me or many others. But we have to face the facts as they develop and evolve. This doesn't mean the XRPL is dead, as many great developers are building on the ledger. We could even see competing systems where the XRPL grinds out its place in the world. The BIS Project Mariana could even fail to meet its objectives, and having Ripple as a partner of some banks and institutions keeps the door open to other alternatives and technological information exchanges. At this point, to expect Ripple and XRP to be at the core function of a new global digital monetary architecture is unrealistic. It was always the hope of many of us who supported the mission of a truly decentralized monetary system to see the Ripple vision be realized. Ripple should continue, though, as stated above, there could be challenges along the way, which Ripple and the XRPL may have solutions to provide. Anything can happen, including an escalation of geopolitical challenges, creating a division within the BIS mandate. This is like no other time in history. Anything can happen. But tempering our expectations would be wise.
