hello si hubineer

this cruising discourse wouldnt have to reach this level of purity politics if that kid didn’t mistakenly apply sociological/queer history to a topic that wasnt even only about sexual liberation

@jeromerxcela @deretourbientot bakit ba ayaw mo tanggapin na ang root cause ng mga yan ay kalibugan? Not everything has to be profound. uncontrolled libog, kink, thrill. Yun pang yun

jerome@jeromerxcela

great point!! people are who are saying that this point is "supporting indecency" are missing the point. the point is yung kawalan nung queer spaces yung nag ccause ng pag resort sa cruising. kaya if we want to address that, dapat from root which is kawalan ng queer spaces nga!

@relief0i idk maybe we can ask the people who cruise para mas maintindihan natin sila hahahah 😭 what OP mentioned was just a possible root or reasoning behind it lang, thats just one possible explanation pa lang

Una sa lahat, alam mo naman palang cruising spot siya tapos pinuntahan mo pa, may kasama ka looking like that, what do you expect? 🫩 Regardless of our moral compass, cruising spots in queer spaces among third spaces historically exist out of resistance. Let me nerd out a bit 1/N

@jeromerxcela 1. ayaw sa bars and spas, kaya sa public CR and parks nalang? Anong kabobohan to? 2. may iba pa bang forms of expression na ginagawa ang mga bading habang nagcucruise bukod sa pagkakantutan?

@relief0i 1. again, baka nga the people who cruise want other options of queer spaces 2. expression and freedom in general. sabi lang nung OP na cruising is a form of retaliation daw from their repressed sexuality. pa elaborate natin yung study for more info hahahaha

You know what's funny about a lot of cis gay Filipino men is that they would police queer sex but pray for more "authentic indie aesthetic queer cinema". Ginawa na talaga ninyong culture war itong cruising. Hindi ito bago, gays in the 60s did this in urban spaces.

adding context by sharing the history of cruising and its ties to oppression ≠ glorifying Also hindi lahat may means to rent a motel room or can risk having themselves seen in spaces heavily correlated to sex like guys come on
Halaman with H 🌱@halamangartist

I won’t shame people na may outdoor kink pero I don’t think na dapat i-glorify yung idea sa mga public spaces na matao talaga and making it like a “safe space” for queer people na ginagawa yun saying na nasa history na kasi sa panahon ngayon, mas accessible na nga mag motel eh

@jeromerxcela 1. Theres plenty of gay bars or areas in this year of our lord 2026 2. Assuming w/o conceeding that there aren’t, ur saying ppl chose to express their queerness at CRs, parks. And by queerness u mean having sex?

@relief0i baka kasi not everyone would resonate with a spa as a queer space, baka they would like other options, like bars or recreational areas ganon. generally a place for them to be themselves lang para they don't have to be curious about cruising as a way to explore and express

@macadabaka those assumptions were taken from the “thesis” of the OP. so u r arguing that these ppl who cruise in the year of our lord 2026 do it bc somehow 50yrs ago, queer ppl were not allowed to have sex? also how are ur tweets not condoning it?

@relief0i Not sure where you got all those assumptions, but all I’m saying is traces ito ng long time issue of not having queer spaces where people can engage in intimate activities. Not saying we condone this but, we need to have a level of understanding as to why this happens

Ang alarming ng new generation of thinkers na hinubog ng internet culture - we dont give space to nuance and empathy, always resulting to oversimplifying and moral absolutism why do we let our beliefs be shaped by the very system that's always been weaponized against the gays?

@jeromerxcela u said it urself na ang kawalan ng queer spaces ang reason for cruising and that it must be addressed. so what did u mean by the term “queer spaces” and what does it have to do with having sex? does “queer spaces” mean places to have sex?

@relief0i ipa-elaborate natin don sa may thesis idea. gets ko lang naman point niya pero di ako yung may study non :( HAHAHAHA kimmy pero baka what he means is ma normalize yung queer spaces. kasi kahit common yung spas, taboo pa rin yun currently

@macadabaka do u honestly think that ppl who have sex in public do that as some form of resistance? do u honestly believe that they have sex in public bc they can’t be gay elsewhere? And is having sex the only way to express our queerness?

ang take ko naman dito - if talagang the current times do not necessitate public cruising, then let the it die down, be obsolete. If it persists, then you have your answer. Ang importante lang naman dito ay they don’t cross the line of consent, may it be flashing or touching etc.

@Tanananantanan these cruising spots that u choose to express ur sexual desires are PUBLIC spaces. They must be safe for ALL ppl, including children. Having sex in public spaces is not good, regardless of who does it- gays or straight. Its not illegal to be horny privately. Bakit sa public?

Senators were seen crying yesterday as a colleague was being arrested for plunder. This is in no way an indictment of the accused senator but I would like to remind our lawmakers… Iyakan n’yo ang ninanakawang Pilipino. Iyakan n’yo ang binabaha dahil sa nakawan sa flood control. Iyakan n’yo ang gutom nating mga kababayan. Get out of your bubble. Please.

@Tanananantanan Cge discuss natin ang context mo. are u really arguing that these ppl who cruise on public spaces in 2026 do it as a form of resistance? u think those ppl are there to resist and fight for liberation? Bc that thesis is a fvcking stretch.

@Tanananantanan cruising spots are PUBLIC spaces - comfort rooms, parks, parking areas, etc. families, women, children, elderly are often in these spaces too. Are u suggesting na okay lang makita nila ang pagkakantutan ninyo sa mga lugar na yan bc gay ka?2026, pwede na magkantutan privately.

@renavi2000 @Tanananantanan Tama ba ang understanding ko that we have to respect people’s choices to have sex in public spaces? And that there should be no shame in displaying sexual activities in public? Saang mundo kayo nakatira? lol

@Tanananantanan Exactly. Even in other countries, spaces like these exists. I think we need to understand and respect nalang one another. If it doesn’t hurt you, why shame them. Saka afaik, if you ever go to a space like this without knowing it, you can easily decline naman or turn your back.

viewing having sex in public spaces as immoral is rooted in colonial ideas of gender?? im sorry?? gender roles were even more rigid pre-colonialism. at kung gusto nating kilalanin tayo ng bansa, diba dpat kilalanin rin natin ang values ng bansa at lipunan?
Tristan Angelo@Tanananantanan

And immoral by society. All deeply rooted in colonial ideas of gender (lol). So back at it again, bilang isang bansa na walang respeto at pagkilala sa mga karanasan ng mga bakla sa kung paano natin ninanavigate ang buhay sa lungsod, patuloy na nagpepersist
