@1am_MARI0 @rarefinds I’m wrestling with this idea myself. It’s essentially brokering potential deals you wouldn’t have otherwise been keen on. For me I find the alpha collection very interesting, but in the end- it’s just out of my realm to pay a sub for collectible items at a consistent rate.

Pokemon may just like how the market is red hot and wants to keep it that way... I just watched Rudy's from Alpha Investments new video and I have to say, I don't disagree with his points, in fact they are fantastic. I think right now the market is ridiculously red hot but maybe Pokemon actually wants it that way and are not doing anything to substantially change that. There are subtle things Pokemon can be doing to help the market along without changing it's trajectory of to the moon in price appreciation, oh which I think they are doing. Historically Pokemon has never printed so many small Main sets in a row like what we are seeing now. First there was Phantasmal Flames, an obviously small set, so small that the last time there was such few cards in it's main set was all the way back in 2010 with HGSS Undaunted. Now we have Perfect Order with an even smaller main set of cards then Phantasmal, following up Perfect Order is Chaos Rising...yet again another small main set. This allows Pokemon to print the same amount of these main sets then previous larger sets while also adding printing capacity for more ancillary products. Maybe they are combating their printing limitations this way, by churning out smaller sets and making it seem like they are trying their best to feed the market with all these retail ancillary products. ...Or maybe... Pokemon just likes the way the market is. Likes the market to be red hot and all eyes on them. Because one giant question remains... WHERE ARE THE BOOSTER BOX REPRINTS?!?! They are nonexistent...we have had basically ZERO Booster Box reprints. Rudy has stated that Pokemon can easily focus a bit of attention on churning out pallets of Booster Boxes and supply shock the market with inventory to get prices back down to MSRP levels..but they simply just WILL NOT do it. How can a business decide, let's make a bunch of bulky thick products, that contain all this ancillary accessories in them. Products that take up a giant amount of space on a pallet, for what....$3,000 of revenue? When they can just as easily fit Booster Boxes on that same pallet to ship out to distributors and make $80,000 with hundreds of more packs condensed together to flood the market with supply. They almost HAVE to be doing this on purpose....so maybe after all Pokemon likes the way things are right now.
