Its kind sad to still see indie folks still spending weeks or worse months building a product before making the first sale. I feel like at this point everyone should know not to do that. What is also interesting is these are smart people but somehow they still manage to find some excuse to justify this approach. Unless you are building a novel product and that too in stealth, going to market faster can be the difference between winning and losing. Unless you are some product genius the only way to get it right is to get repeated feedback from paying customers and iterate. Building an entire product without enough paying customers and feedback is an incredible way to waste time and effort. Unfortunately, the folks I have in mind right now are struggling with sales from what it seems to me. I hope I end up being wrong though.
