When this country can’t see that racism is ingrained in it’s very makeup that allows “free speech” as a hall pass for it and the worlds stance on racism is regressing. Now more than ever, we need louder voices.

When two young boys drown because of a police chase, yet cops stand by and help a cat out of a tree. We need louder voices.

I’ve sat silent over the past few days on how racist this country is because I was tired and angry. But when the news calls out a nine year old girl for sitting during the national anthem yet let’s a racist cartoon go untouched, it’s clear we need louder voices.

White women owe a helluva lot to Black women - the wins you are granted often come via the labour of Black women (yes those same ones you demonised as angry and emotional and undeserving). Instead of chastising us it’s abt time you said thank you and give credit where it’s due.
