Moreover, it's apparently a commonly used preventative tactic. But mostly, it worked. No foul odor, no noxious gas.

Pigs, I researched what went so horribly wrong with the inaugural 5-gallon #pissbucket and why it reeked of rotting corpse. Apparently that's exactly what the smell was, because after that amount of time piss starts to rot. I learned how to prevent this though, and will be starting over with an empty bucket. Sorry to get only halfway full the first time, but hopefully the second attempt will be more successful! There will be no dumping video this time, because it's more of a toxic-waste disposal than a horny pig event

I researched this thoroughly with Grok. Add a small amount of bleach at the start and keep adding maintenance doses as the days progress. That stops the rotting and maintains the normal piss smell, though it may have a little more of a chemical smell. I personally don't care about how it smells, as long as it doesn't smell gross.
