The Caja del Rio is one of New Mexico’s most treasured landscapes — a place where Tribal communities, Land Grants, and New Mexico families have lived, gathered, prayed, and cared for the land for generations. This bill honors that legacy and will ensure this sacred and uniquely New Mexican landscape is protected for generations to come!

Happy Monday! I am officially on my way to Florida for an Oversight hearing with Epstein survivors, then back to DC to fight the good fight—but so grateful for the time we got to spend in New Mexico the last week! From Roswell to Ruidoso, Carrizozo to Tomé, Valencia to To’Hajiilee, and Albuquerque to the East Mountains—we loved every moment. I was especially grateful to break ground on a new school for To’Hajiilee, celebrate new community center grounds in Tijeras, and welcome the opening of new family and housing services on the West Side. This is the work we love to do every day for NM! ❤️

New Mexico has spoken clearly and lawfully—that we will not be a party to illegal and unconstitutional violations of our communities’ civil liberties and human rights. We stand by our state and local laws and the protection of our communities.

Last week, SCOTUS gutted the Voting Rights Act, attempting to take this country back decades. In the ensuing week, states across the South have raced to redraw maps and wipe out districts representing the promise of the civil rights movement. Today, Virginia’s courts directly undermined the will of the people, who voted for the ballot measure to determine their own future. Make no mistake, this is the fight of our generation—but the fight is bigger than one state or one ruling. We know there are difficult days ahead, but we won’t back down!

Between racial gerrymandering and redistricting in the South, cutting federal funding to organizations, firing of federal and military leaders, dismantling civil rights protections, and trying to rewrite American history itself—it is very clear this Administration has an agenda and a dark one at that. We must show and push back with everything we’ve got. Because, we 👏 are 👏 not 👏 going 👏 back!

Yesterday, we broke ground on a new chapter for To’Hajiilee. 💛 After years of advocacy, the new To’Hajiilee Community School is finally becoming a reality! Honored to help secure $90 million for this project alongside Secretary Deb Haaland, Rep. Paulene Abeyta, Tribal leaders, educators, students, and the community members who made this possible!  Go TCS Warriors! ✨

Standing with everyone in TN, AL, MS, LA, FL, SC, and others in the fight to protect voting rights and fair representation in the wake of last week’s devastating decision. We know there are difficult days ahead, but we must continue to organize, mobilize, and fight back in the courts, in our communities, in our legislatures, and yes in Congress. And, we must show up and vote like our democracy depends on it. Because it does.

Tuesday we will head into the belly of the beast for an Oversight hearing in Palm Beach to hear from Epstein Survivors in FL. We won’t stop until there’s justice.

Every day, he 👏 is 👏 breaking 👏 the 👏 law. The Supreme Court ruled his tariffs are illegal and now the International Trade Court. This is not legit trade policy. This is breaking the law, on the backs of the American people, who are paying for it every single day—while he recklessly messes with our lives and the global economy.

Serious question: Does the GOP really believe Americans want an illegal war in Iran, a billion-dollar ballroom, a trillion and a half dollar defense budget, $70 billion added to the deficit, and cuts to healthcare, food assistance, and education—while Americans cannot afford housing, gas, and groceries? I mean really, because that’s what they’re serving up in Congress right now. We must continue to speak up, speak out, and mobilize like never before!

We’re back on the road this morning to To’Hajiilee to celebrate the groundbreaking of their new community school! Securing $90 million for this school is one of our biggest and most meaningful wins! Also, updates on Oversight yesterday with Howard Lutnick and our field hearing in Palm Beach next week with survivors.
