$2 BILLION A DAY = Trump’s war of choice in Iran. That’s money that could have been spent to lower health care premiums for millions of Americans.

On the anniversary of the Affordable Care Act, advocates from St. John’s Clinic and the California Physicians Alliance joined me to sound the alarm: Americans need HEALTH CARE, NOT WARFARE. Trump’s war of choice on Iran costs taxpayers $2 billion a day — money that could instead be used to extend the ACA tax credits and lower health care costs for millions. #healthcarenotwarfare

Sixteen years ago, the Affordable Care Act was signed into law. In that time, tens of millions of Americans gained health insurance. Today, Trump and Republicans want to do everything to take health insurance away, as they’ve refused to extend the ACA tax credits that would keep premiums lower for millions. @HouseDemocrats will continue to fight to extend the credits and lower health care costs across the board.

When large hospital systems acquire more hospitals, and independent doctors are bought up by large health care companies, it gives these health care industries the power to charge Americans higher prices. Competition in any marketplace is necessary because it leads to lower prices— especially in a field that directly affects people’s lives.

I am heartbroken, outraged, and sick to my stomach. Heartbroken for the young girls and women who suffered abuse and violations by a man who was lifted up as an icon. I’m outraged that someone could abuse their power and stature to take advantage of young girls and women. Bottom line is, I am sick to my stomach. I applaud the brave women who have come forward to tell their story. Your story and courage are empowering for women and survivors everywhere. You deserve to be treated with dignity and respect. I offer my support and help, in any way I can. The farmworker movement is about fighting for better working conditions and immigrant justice. That movement was built by a collective effort of countless workers, organizers, and advocates committed to challenging exploitation and advancing dignity for all. Today, we are reminded of the need to continue that work and to hold people accountable, no matter their title or history. We cannot look away.

MUST READ: A bombshell NYT investigation shows that Cesar Chavez sexually abused young girls. Dolores Huerta also discloses for first time that that Chavez raped her. So much more from Manny Fernandez and Sarah Hurtes —> nytimes.com/2026/03/18/us/…

Had a great Passport Fair in #SouthGate yesterday! We helped nearly 200 community members apply for, or renew, their U.S. passports ahead of the spring and summer travel season. Thank you to the @statedept Los Angeles Passport Agency for their support and to Hub Cities Consortium for hosting us and helping make this event possible. Safe travels everyone!

Trump is using his needless war on Iran as an excuse to restart oil drilling off the coast of California. American soldiers fight and die overseas while Trump tries to help his Big Oil buddies profit off the war he started. Sick. latimes.com/california/sto…

We’re bringing money back to our communities to help fund critical violence prevention programs. I secured over $1 million in federal funding to expand Southern California Crossroads' Community Peace & Safety Initiative. This will help activate public spaces and establish safe passages to schools, implement school-based safety programs, and provide services for survivor patients.

In March, we recognize the incredible work of the American Red Cross and the volunteers who show up for our communities when it matters most. From responding to natural disasters and home fires to supporting military families and ensuring a safe blood supply, the Red Cross embodies compassion in action. Thank you to the volunteers, donors, and first responders who help keep our neighbors safe and strong every single day!

At our roundtable in #Paramount, veterans spoke out against the war on Iran and how the Trump administration continues to make life harder for those who served. Our veterans have seen the cost of war firsthand. Yet, they struggle to pay the rising costs of Trump and Republicans’ cuts to the federal workforce and veterans’ benefits. Shame on Republicans — our veterans deserve better.
