Today I took to the House floor to introduce the Kimberly Vaughan Firearm Safe Storage Act alongside @RepDean. The bill honors Kimberly Vaughan, one of the 10 lives stolen during the 2018 mass shooting at Santa Fe High School in Texas. Kimberly was killed after a teenage classmate used firearms taken from his father that had been left unsecured at home.

The public deserves access to the Epstein files, and the survivors of Jeffrey Epstein deserve to have their identities protected. Yet, the DOJ has not fully redacted survivor and victim personally identifiable information (“PII”) from their website. So I proposed an amendment to the House Appropriations Committee to mandate this removal. It was drafted for survivors, with their input, and has their support. Because of their extraordinary courage, the amendment was accepted. It does not even begin to make amends for the harm caused by the DOJ’s reckless publishing, but shielding their identities is the right first step.

Nurses give us the best care when we are at our worst. Yet, their safety is not guaranteed at work. This National Nurses Week, I’m grateful to the decades-long work of Betty Long and the Guardian Nurses as we advocate for stronger protections. It's time Congress passes my Save Healthcare Workers Act to make it a federal crime to knowingly assault hospital workers.

The House should have passed this bill weeks ago. While I am relieved that Republicans' DHS shutdown has ended, I will continue to use my vote and my voice to oppose any additional funding for ICE and CBP.

40 years since the tragic Challenger explosion — and in the aftermath of immense loss, Challenger Learning Centers have served as a living memorial. I’m thrilled to have secured federal support for @mccc's Pottstown campus to expand our students’ interest in space exploration.

This week I pressed the Commerce Secretary on Epstein and on unlawful tariffs.    What became clear is that this administration isn’t addressing Americans’ concerns — only scrambling to manage the fallout from its own actions.
