Thank you to the people of #NY19. Thank you for trusting me to represent you in Congress. Thank you for staying active with calls, letters, town halls, meetings & more. Democracy is a two-way street – your passionate engagement helped me become a more effective representative.

Congratulations to all the high schoolers who sent in artwork for the #CongressionalArtCompetition! Your pieces were judged by a panel made up of local art professionals. I want to highlight some of our honorable mentions.

I want to congratulate Sofia Ingalls from Cooperstown CSD, our Congressional Art Competition Runner Up for “A Path Less Traveled.” Beautiful work Sofia, well done.

I am very happy to announce and celebrate this year’s winner of the #NY19 Congressional Art Competition – Ashlee Bayer from Averill Park CSD. Ashlee created “All There is,” pictured below. Amazing job Ashlee, your work will be displayed in the Capitol for everyone to enjoy.

My heart is breaking for the parents, loved ones, fellow students, teachers, and every single person affected by the horrific and tragic shooting in Uvalde. Our kids should feel safe and secure when they go to school, to the grocery store, to the movies. We need change now.

Today, members of my team will be out in #NY19 for mobile office hours. These office hours are an opportunity for community members to meet with my staff and receive assistance with constituent services and casework.

The bill to provide emergency funding to support Ukraine has been signed into law. With this legislation, we sent a bipartisan message that the people of the United States stand with the people of Ukraine as they fight to defend their democracy and freedom. #SupportUkraine.

Higher prices at the pump are hurting folks across #NY19 and the country. Yesterday, the House passed new legislation that would establish the first ever federal law against price gouging by oil and gas companies to help lower costs for hardworking families.

As formula shortages continue impacting parents across the county, we are working to address the problem head on. Yesterday, the House passed legislation to expand formula access for families who participate in WIC & to provide emergency funding to produce more formula.

Yesterday, we passed legislation to strengthen the fight against domestic terrorism & better protect our New York communities. The Domestic Terrorism Prevention Act will expand federal resources to combat violent extremism & better equip local law enforcement to address threats.
