The first new Star Wars movie in seven years gets caught almost immediately in a feedback loop of self-satisfied nostalgia which it seldom pulls out of.

Its good whenever but there's something special when a male directors camera lusts after his male actors.

It’s such bullshit because it has NOTHING to do with the actual story or quality of the trailer. It’s entirely due to the culture war bullshit. It makes me so angry cause even if the movie is a success it’ll still be riddled with awful reviews because of racists and transphobes. It’s ridiculous.

THE ODYSSEY official trailer on YT has now become the most disliked movie trailer in Christopher Nolan career.
English

@emkenobi @James_Hiler so are okay when the king of wakanda is chinese or british? okay... lmao
English

@James_Hiler The people the movie is about did not exist lol. Homer wasn’t writing a historical novel about the war. He wrote a poem about fictional people and Gods. If they wanna get upset then shouldn’t they also be outraged over the movie Troy which also wasn’t accurate?
English

@emkenobi @James_Hiler but when they make the so-called made up story of casting white instead of black and casting straight instead of gay is okay for you? okay you got your point lmao.
English

@TheCinesthetic stop, we are talking about culture not scientific simulation lmao.

Christopher Nolan, responding in Time magazine this week to the avalanche of criticism over his Odyssey casting choices:
"Hopefully they'll enjoy the film, even if they don't agree with everything. We had a lot of scientists complain about Interstellar. But you just don't want people to think that you took it on frivolously."
He built a real seaworthy ship, shot entirely on 70mm IMAX, and spent $250 million. Is Nolan being dismissed too quickly, or did his casting choices earn the backlash?

quand vous comprendrez qu’un film d’horreur c’est sur la tension du film et pas que des jumpscare on pourra avancer
𝓓@drn_rx
c’était bien mais on m’a vendu un film terrifiant alors que a part 2-3 jumpscare y’avait rien d’effrayant
