It’s official—the SALT cap is now $40,000. That’s $5,000 in real tax relief for a Long Island family earning $250,000 and paying $18,000 in property taxes. I fought tooth and nail to deliver this win.

I secured $4.3M in federal funding to put new police vehicles on the streets across Suffolk County and I will always fight to ensure our officers have the tools they need to protect our communities.

@thomf11954 @NassauNYGOP I’ve talked a lot about affordability and public safety. But I’ve also delivered: a $2,860 tax cut for the average Long Island family, along with real action to secure our border and strengthen our military.

Good meeting in DC with New York's credit union leaders. Among other topics, we talked about how to protect seniors from different types of banking fraud.

I was proud to join @RepLaLota in this effort. More staff means better access to care and stronger support for those still living with the health impacts of that day. This is about making sure those who answered the call on September 11th get the care they have earned.
Rep. Andrew Garbarino@RepGarbarino

The World Trade Center Health Program has now been approved to fully staff up to 120 positions, adding 37 critical roles that will directly support the responders and survivors who rely on this care every day. After raising these concerns and pushing for answers, this is real progress for the 9/11 community. newsday.com/long-island/po…

Pretty cool to watch Suffolk County natives Anthony Kay and Steven Matz share the same mound this afternoon as the Chicago White Sox take on the Tampa Bay Rays. Two Ward Melville grads, two big league lefties, and one more reminder that Long Island knows how to produce top talent.

They tried to lowball Long Island on SALT and expected us to just accept it. I rejected their $30K offer because it did not come close to delivering the relief our families deserve. I kept fighting until we got $40K, enough to make 92% of Long Island families whole and deliver a $2,860 federal tax cut for the average family.

🍕 I’ve never been one to say “Happy Tax Day,” but this year, Long Islanders finally have a reason to. For too long, families in high tax states like New York have been sending more to Washington and getting back a smaller slice. That wasn’t right, and a small group of blue state Republicans stood our ground to fix it. Now, suburban families here are finally getting their fair share of the pie. According to Newsday, the average Long Island family is paying about $2,860 less in federal taxes this year than last. And this isn’t crumbs, it’s a full, well earned slice for everyone: a $40,000 SALT deduction for homeowners, no tax on tips, a new $6,000 deduction for seniors, an expanded Child Tax Credit, and permanent relief for the small businesses that power our local economy. Real savings. Real relief. Suffolk County first.

New Yorkers are getting crushed by utility bills because of Governor Hochul and Albany Democrats’ failed energy policies. They forced through unrealistic mandates and now families are paying the price while billions sit locked away in Albany. That is unacceptable. I am fighting to return that money to you, lower your bills, and hold Hochul accountable.

On Yom HaShoah, we honor the memory of the six million Jews lost in the Holocaust and the survivors who bore witness to one of history's darkest chapter. With antisemitism and denial growing across our country and around the world, our obligation to educate, remember, and pass these stories on to future generations has never been greater.

@brollAmerican I was not in Congress when the SALT cap changed. I came to Congress to right that wrong, even when it meant fighting my own party and I am proud to have done so.

@RepLaLota It was REPUBLICANS who took our unlimited SALT deductions away in the first place! You get ZERO credit for partially fixing an issue you caused in the first place!

While governors like Kathy Hochul and Gavin Newsom continue to raise taxes on their residents, Blue State Republicans like me fought for federal tax relief and delivered. Because of the quadrupling of SALT, Long Islanders and taxpayers in high cost states are paying $29 billion less in federal taxes.

Thanks to the Working Families Tax Cuts I helped pass, Trump Accounts will give eligible kids born 2025–2028 a $1,000 head start, but parents need to enroll. Families can contribute up to $5,000 a year, tax-deferred, helping kids build real savings early. At 18, it converts to a traditional IRA, so it can support college, a first home, or starting a business, with standard rules on early withdrawals.

Governor Kathy Hochul’s cashless bail policies put this repeat offender back on the street, where he allegedly kidnapped an innocent four year old girl from a Patchogue laundromat. Thankfully, ICE stepped in, detained him, and is now removing him from the country. This is exactly what happens when public safety takes a back seat to failed, pro criminal policies. Enough is enough.

On this Orthodox Easter Sunday, I am reminded of my meeting last year with His All Holiness Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, a global church leader and advocate for the faithful across our district. I wish Long Island’s Orthodox Christian community a blessed celebration filled with faith, family, and renewal.

Had a great meeting with the Federal Bar Association to discuss the state of our federal courts and the challenges are real. ⚖️ 560 threats against federal judges last year 🚨 15 active judicial emergencies nationwide 📅 No new judgeships created since 1990 Our courts are stretched thin and under threat. That's why in this year's funding bill we delivered: 💰 $6.1B for court operations 🛡️ $1.76B for Defender Services 🔒 $892M for judicial security — a 19% increase Now we turn to FY27.

Artemis II’s journey around the Moon and successful return home is a meaningful achievement for our country and for the world. It reflects the determination and curiosity that continue to drive human exploration forward. My wife, Kaylie, had the special opportunity to sit with the Artemis II crew during this year’s State of the Union. As a mother of three and a coach to a 45-member girls dance team, she was especially glad to wish Mission Specialist Christina Koch well and to thank her for being an inspiration, particularly to young women across the country. America is so proud of this dedicated crew and all they’ve accomplished! 🇺🇸🚀💪

Over the past few weeks, American citizens have been killed in New York, New Jersey, Illinois, Virginia and Florida by ILLEGAL immigrants. Democrats don’t care. They STILL want to defund ICE and Border Patrol

As the only NY Republican on the House Appropriations Committee, I fight for Long Island to get a better return on every dollar sent to Washington. Securing $3.5M in federal funds to repave roads across the Town of Huntington fixes aging infrastructure and supports good-paying local jobs.

I recently sat down with MTA Chairman Janno Lieber, with Chuck Schumer in the room, to talk about congestion pricing, and I did not hold back. This is a blatant cash grab hurting Long Island commuters who are already stretched thin. The MTA is a mismanaged bureaucracy, and its leadership ignores a simple truth. It is wrong to make suburban families subsidize the city’s failures. They refuse to collect hundreds of millions from toll evaders and are entertaining Mamdani’s so called free bus schemes, yet still want more from Long Islanders. Enough is enough. Long Islanders are already Albany’s piggy bank and New York State should not take another dime.

The road to fully funding the 9/11 World Trade Center Health Program has not been easy, but it is a fight we must finish. Recently in Washington, Speaker Johnson, Chairman Garbarino, and I welcomed New York’s fire union leaders to discuss the progress we have made securing funding for the program and our continued push to strengthen staffing. From 9/11 to every call they answer today, our firefighters put their lives on the line to keep our communities safe, and we must always have their backs.

I didn’t go to DC to fit in. I went to fight for Long Island and America. From day one, I made a promise to Suffolk County that I would fix SALT. I didn’t back down from the pushback in Washington, because my job is simple, fight for Long Island families. Now, 92% of the families I represent are made whole and are getting between $2,000 and $7,000 more back on their taxes on average.
