May 28 is LGBTQI+ Domestic Violence Awareness Day. The day began in 2020 in Australia as a day to start conversations, spread the word and stand together to support victims and survivors of domestic and family violence. This year’s theme is #SeenAndBelieved

It’s been an eventful nine years for me with, starting as a Coordinator overseen jointly by Wellington Rape Crisis, Wellington Sexual Abuse HELP Foundation and WellStop, growing the work and then setting up RespectEd as its own organisation with a dynamic and ever-growing team.

We are looking for an Instructional Designer as part of our partnership with SHINE. In this role, you will be working on a project to design a specialised family violence and sexual violence response education and training package.

At RespectEd Aotearoa, we welcome the release of new sexuality education resources for the teaching of relationships and sexuality education. These resources are inclusive and have been expanded to include information about consent, digital safety and healthy relationships.
