@IfeanyichukwuFE @honour_can_code PHP, is a scripting language it doesn’t interact with the OS directly. It runs in a zend process Virtual Machine. Zend(a C library) executes the php codes and it has interpreted it to its own code (opcodes).

@honour_can_code Hmm 🤔 Laravel is purely PHP... Asides PHP can actually handle it natively though I won't argue it's the best tool to use, but it can. I believe any language capable of talking to the OS and running processes (directly or indirectly) can.

i said php cant natively handle it effectively. in context of not doing so without a framework. and you said it will natively pull this and that… thats completely different from what i said. it would need to either use shell commands or fallback to a library to handle the containers. hence wont effectively do it natively.

Laravel, ships 100% php unless you’re factoring in blade and email markdowns, which are just gibberish that php still parse. To run a hosting platform, you won’t even need to call any PHP FFI. Day 27 of learning JavaScript✨ Today I worked more with dates and added them into the Bankist app. Also learned about internationalization for dates and numbers. This part is a bit tricky, so I’ll go through MDN to understand it better. Still took notes. Still practiced.

Actually, almost anything can be done with Wordpress. It is HIGHLY extensible. The whole thing is just code, it’s not like you only have access to drag and drop page and nothing else. Wordpress is simply like an “open-source” solution that you are self-hosting, with easy admin and plug and play ecosystem for making customization with ease. But if you want to get your hands dirty, you can. That’s what themes and plugin creators do too. The question is, does it make sense to use it for every solution? Most times, NO. If e-commerce plugins didn’t exist, most people would have thought Wordpress can only handle blogs. Every plugin is custom code with frontend and backend that you can write yourself if you are technical enough. Again, if I have to write so much custom code, I might have to rethink my decision to use Wordpress.

Don’t be ridiculous! Very few people builds fintech API with Laravel and it’s for starters not when the app has grown. Wordpress is mostly about the backend serving the HTML. Do you know what backends do? Events, subsribers, jobs, notifications, shedules etc. Wordpress will fight you every step of the way on all the above. Let’s not talk about how many processes needed to handle the transactions fast.
