If I'm not mistaken, it'll be the first final between two teams who have lost a game earlier in the tournament since Argentina - Netherlands in 1978

🔢 - Randal Kolo Muani's🇫🇷 goal was the 1st goal scored by a player wearing shirt number 1️⃣2️⃣ at this World Cup. All shirt numbers (1-26) have now netted at least 1 goal in Qatar (including own goals). #FIFAWorldCup #FRAMOR

Surely sub Messi and Alvarez now

Interesting that the consensus is that it was a penalty, and the foul on Messi by Szczesny was not. Both given for fouls after the shot was taken Here, the keeper is simply standing in line of the ball. There the keeper was moving towards the ball, missed it and punched Messi.

That penalty was more of a foul on Livakovic, than it was a penalty. Keeper simply standing in front of the original line of the ball with his feet apart. Didn't move towards Alvarez.

What a good game. England unfortunate to be behind. Managed Mbappe and Dembele very well. Not much happening on their left flank though, might want to replace Foden with Grealish at '55 to get some build up play going on that side too.

Physicality is lost a bit when watching games on tv, but it is coming through well in this game. The zoomed camera angles also help with that, although not great angles in general

Mbappe riding the challenge from Rice is what you exprct from top players. Players who constantly 'win fouls' aren't getting to the top.

POR definitely haven't done enough to equalize. 45 minutes of playing easy passes to the flank to cross like a small team. Bruno, Bernardo & Felix on the pitch and barely 5 passes into the 10 position all half. Meanwhile Amrabat has dominated that space for Morocco defensively.

That shot was the first touch in ages. Should help with attracting passes

Not sure what the system is now but he hasn't touched the ball for around 7 minutes. Portugal playing safe passes out wide for crossing.

Seems like 4-2-3-1 for Portugal but the number 10, Felix, never gets the ball. Could try dropping in a bit or playing Bruno at 10.

Portugal are playing wingers who aren't tracking back much, while also failing to the one-on-one dribbling and goal threat. Moroccan wingers outplaying them.

All 3 Argentine CBs were on the halfline a while back and Enzo Fernandez was still trying to drop in between them.

I was about to say what a great game by Modric to bow out of the World Cup, as he beat 2 players to start the move for the goal

Some wild World Cup stats for you: Italy haven’t won a knock-out game since the 2006 final. Spain haven’t won a knock-out game since the 2010 final. Germany haven’t won a knock-out game since the 2014 final.

Shame Germany didn't want Fullkrug to start games. Would have qualified and that would have made for even better QFs/ SFs.
