And I would be open to nuclear if it stacked up for Australia.
But it is pretty bloody obvious by now that it doesn't.
We have more land, sun, wind and gas than just about any nation on earth. Why would we go nuclear?

Some people think their roof-top solar gives them power at 6am at the end of March, when the sun doesn‘t rise until 7am in Sydney. 🤦🏻 And even at 8.30am, a solar system in Sydney would be lucky to be running at 20% of capacity. So if you had a 5 KW roof-top solar system (about 15 to 20 large solar panels) you’d be lucky for it to generating 1000watts in the morning - and that wouldn’t even boil a kettle, (which needs 1500 watts) bluettipower.com/blogs/news/ket….

Lithium battery fires have featured far too often in news headlines. These fires often ignite without warning, they're difficult to extinguish and are not confined to #EVs. Everything from eScooters to electric toothbrushes carries the risk for #thermal runaway and considered hazardous materials.
I asked about the ACCC's report on Lithium-Ion Batteries and Consumer Product Safety during the recent senate estimates. The report advocates for a national product safety incident database to capture lithium ion battery fires.
Senator Gallagher responded positively and I look forward to quick action on this problem from the Government.

Covid unleashed the worst of humanity, including the empowerment of the petty totalitarian - individuals devoid of common-sense and basic decencies that relished their new found power to bully and bark dictatorial orders to others.
In other times, they would have been ideally suited to work as a prison guard in Stalin‘s or Hitler’s gulags.
