@That_Guy_London @HeathPettyFB I feel like Tate is a more fluid athlete than D Hop was. I always thought Hop was more stiff/unexplosive after the catch. Tate has a little more juice to him than I think he’s given credit. Sure he’s not Chase/Nabers after the catch but he’s also not going down right away either

@rflatt3 @HeathPettyFB Yeah that’s who I got for him a bigger Devonta smith, Dhop is way more aggressive at the top of his routes and he’s smooth but Tate is smoother

Just did a major deep dive on new Titans WR Carnell Tate. Here are my thoughts: 1. He catches everything. Julian Sayin did not always make plays easy on him, he bailed Sayin out multiple times. He's going to thrive in situations where Cam is scrambling and look to make a play. 2. His route running is special. The skill set that translates the most from college to NFL for a wide receiver is route running. (A guy like Treylon Burks who didn't learn routes at Arkansas is a great example of how important it is to be elite in that part of the game) 3. He's such a smooth receiver. Watching his game is visually satisfying. Everything looks easy for him. It's like watching Ray Allen shoot a basketball. If I had to give a comp for him, I would go with D Hop. Not the biggest threat to take a slant 80 yards to the house, but they are both elite route runners with expectational hands.

Titans were the worst downfield passing team last year. Can see why Carnell Tate was too important to pass up.

@MikeHerndonSk1 I had Tyson as my WR1 because I thought he had the explosiveness and YAC ability of a top 10 guy in the league. I have to remind myself there’s multiple ways to be that in the NFL

@rflatt3 He’s just so smooth in everything he does. Tremendous feel for the position. Just a natural receiver in every way.

Liked the Tate pick given the options and thought both Faulk and Hill were both tremendous values and fits within Saleh’s defense. Less blown away with the day 3 picks, but I do think they got some interesting pieces, especially Singleton and Coogan. Very good draft overall.

@MikeHerndonSk1 Interesting.. I definitely saw a bigger DeVonta myself but also see some Davante Adams in his game as well. Obviously that’s the highest end upside but if he gets a little bit stronger I can definitely see it. The fact he’s still only 21 is exciting.

@rflatt3 Don’t know that I have a clear “he’s this guy” comp for him. There are elements that remind me of AJ Green, DeAndre Hopkins. Not completely the same as those guys, but shades. Some shades of bigger DeVonta Smith too. A little Justin Jefferson in there too.

The “Carnell Tate is a WR2” argument is so dumb. He was WR2 behind Jeremiah Smith. A player that could go 1st overall next year. When Jettas and Chase were on LSU did people think Jefferson was a bum because Chase was ballin? No. Same situation here
