Slept on it Still don’t love it BUT it’s a wait and see. I loved Early’s game. He simply knew how to pitch. That being said, early metrics and signs showed his cap might be a #3 type guy. Still valuable On Mead, the metrics are great. People seem worried about how he’s been traded multiple times over the last year but I don’t think that’s really relevant. Teams are right and wrong about players all the time. Like I said, it’s a wait and see. Mead’s bat has been excellent this season. Defensively, he’s been poor at 3B. IMO he should move to 2B where he played some over his career. Metrics are better there. All said, if Mead can continue this offensively, then he’s arguably your 2nd or 3rd best hitter on the team. A guy that can bat in the top 6 and be a force. That’s what the Sox needed and what fans wanted, right? Only time will tell
