@WilliamTP1025 @AmericanDebunk It’s a war. Iran has no problem lobbing cluster bomb missiles into civilian areas in Israel, are you bitching about that? Iran, like Hamas and Hezbollah, has no problem militarizing civilian structures like schools and hospitals, are you bitching about that?

@rgblsu72 @AmericanDebunk How do you do that without doing so to the civilians? To do that it’d take the more deranged than the one they’re trying to bomb into oblivion 🤷‍♂️

JD Vance just delivered a masterclass on the world stage. Although they failed to reach a deal, Vance turned the outcome into a strategic win. Here's how he did it. Vance masterfully reframed the failed negotiations as a clear loss for Iran rather than any setback for the United States. By stating that the outcome represented "bad news for Iran much more than bad news for the USA," he shifted the narrative from diplomatic stalemate to asymmetric consequences. Trump-like persuasion. This framing emphasizes that America holds a strong position with viable alternatives, while Iran stands to suffer far more from the lack of agreement. It reassures the American public of U.S. strength and subtly warns Tehran that time is not on their side. Vance also placed full responsibility on Iran by declaring, "They have chosen not to accept our terms." This language portrays the United States as the reasonable party that offered fair conditions, while depicting Iran as the one rejecting a deal. By using active verbs like "chosen," he avoids any suggestion of mutual failure or U.S. inflexibility. This blame-shifting tactic strengthens the administration's position and makes any future pressure on Iran appear justified and positions the U.S. as the patient, principled actor in the talks. Vance also highlights the marathon length of the discussions served to demonstrate American good faith and commitment. He noted that the teams had been negotiating for 21 hours with "substantive discussions," only to reach no agreement. This detail underscores the effort and seriousness brought by the U.S. side, creating a powerful contrast with Iran's ultimate refusal. It builds credibility with both domestic and international audiences by showing that the United States exhausted every reasonable opportunity before walking away. And lastly, Vance's public announcement of the U.S. delegation leaving the table after such an extended session functions as a strategic power move. Rather than appearing frustrated or defeated, the walk-away is presented as a deliberate choice following Iran's rejection. This tactic signals resolve and resets the dynamics on American terms. It also reinforces the message that the burden now rests entirely with Iran. The calm, factual delivery keeps the pressure on Tehran without unnecessary escalation. Again- an absolute masterclass by Vance. I can't wait to see his game develop even more over the next 3 years.

@shipwreckedcrew What was there to negotiate? We went there solely to establish that the Iranian regime is batshit crazy.

It's not a "negotiation" -- it is a discussion over the terms upon which the US will quit killing Iranian military and government leaders and further destroy what little armed forces Iran has left.
Michael Tracey@mtracey

Just as with previous rounds of "negotiations," it appears the Trump crew showed up demanding Iran capitulate. Only this time Vance tagged along with Witkoff and Jared. But the result is the same: "They have chosen not to accept our terms." So basically another fake "negotiation"

@RpsAgainstTrump They very reasonably refused to agree not to develop nuclear weapons to use to kill us in the future and we very unreasonably refused to accept that position. Unbelievable that we thought further negotiations would not be fruitful. Hitler Trump strikes again.

Axios: JD Vance left Islamabad for Washington immediately after his four-minute press conference. Several Iranian outlets then said the talks failed because the U.S. wasn’t realistic and had “excessive demands.”

JD Vance: “We had a number of substantive discussions with the Iranians, that's the good news The bad news is we have not reached an agreement and I think that's bad news for Iran much more than it is for the US”

Retired US Vice Admiral Robert Harward said on Saturday Iran should be required to relinquish uranium-related materials and accept strict international oversight as part of any future nuclear agreement, arguing such steps are necessary to prevent weaponization. Speaking on Newsmax TV’s “Saturday Agenda,” Harward said US negotiators should seek commitments from Tehran that go beyond limiting enrichment, including transferring nuclear material and agreeing to binding restrictions on both nuclear and missile programs. “Sure they can,” he said when asked whether Iran could give up uranium-related capabilities, adding: “I think that should be part of the negotiations.”

American medical student just did “horrifying math” on her student loans - Her amount due is $396,945.67 - Annual interest rate: 5.875% - Monthly interest accrual: $1,943.38 Her monthly resident paycheck is $4,054.98 HALF her income goes to just interest… She says if she pays nothing toward interest, the loan would grow to roughly $600,000 by the time she finishes residency Interest rates on student loans are predatory and should be illegal. This is usury
