Is there a word or term for global north birders and ornithologists that come over to explain to us our birds and the ones we do research on? Birdsplaining? Gringosplaining? What term would you come up with?

This shouldn’t be an unpopular opinion. Just like we don’t let dogs free roam, we need to normalize not letting cats free roam, either. Better for the cats. Better for our environments.

@LAevolving The Ouachita (WASH-uh-tah) Mountains are incredible. This is where our family would camp, fish, boat, and hike growing up. Flipping stream rocks for salamanders and crawdads was good fun.

@CinTyLeeEarth @elonmusk SpaceX bought a very small piece of land on a public hwy surrounded by conservation lands. I doubt that viewing access was among the most important decision factors driving their site selection.

With gale force winds, it was not the right time to go down to south Texas to look for birds. But looks like ⁦@elonmusk⁩ rocket operations continue even in bad weather. Always amazed how open to viewing the boca chica site is.

Hey, friends, we just gave our company to planet Earth. OK, it’s more nuanced than that, but we’re closed today to celebrate this new plan to save our one and only home. We’ll be back online tomorrow. nytimes.com/2022/09/14/cli…

There’s a book I read in undergrad. It was written by an entomologist, was a journal of shorts. I can’t remember much else about it beyond that it stoked my curiosity and wonder. Help?! Any ideas of what it could be? I want to find it again.
