If we played badly and lost because Atleti were simply the better team, fair enough, I’d take my L in peace and accept that we’re not good enough. But we actually performed better, even with 10 men. We created, we competed, and did enough to at least get something out of it but we loose because of one moment… one mistake. Now of course after this brilliant performance, being constantly the main source of creativity in the team, dribbling in the toughest situations, and playing the most decisive passes to create multiple chances, plus making runs and even forcing the red card that made the game 10x easier for us… But after all that, the casuals are still going to reduce it to “another big game without a goal contribution” and say he isn’t showing up in big games. I’m not even mad about it, I actually feel bad for them for missing out on enjoying the best, and the most exciting and entertaining player of this generation.
