@seismicjello Always consider the context, Jacob is plainly speaking about Final Judgement. This interpretation matches the scriptural examples of Transfiguration, where a literal change takes place in the blood and body of individuals who behold God face to face. Like Moses at Sinai.

on my twelfth birthday, i begged my parents to let me stay home from school. my bff was visiting me from florida, bc she had moved the year before. They firmly said, "absolutely not," and sent me to school. around 10 am, i got a call down to the front office. /1

all of my school friends were in the office, looking confused. i asked why all of them were there and they each had different reasons. Dentist, doctor, etc. and then my parents showed up & said that we were leaving to go to a secret destination for my birthday. /2

all of their parents had been in on it and knew we were getting pulled out of school. we got in the car and made the hour drive to a family friend's lake house. They let us use their boat and tube on the lake all day long. and it's still my favorite birthday.
