People in general need to be taught, trained so much that it becomes a natural part of one's psyche. Japanese are taught from their childhood and it shows when we hear stories that their sportspersons cleaned the sports areas.

Earlier Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Jammu and Kashmir were this clean too… then expressways came and things slowly changed. Maybe the only way to keep it that way is to limit tourist inflow and manage it better, otherwise the same story is bound to repeat.

More private parties should come up with businesses that treat or decompose or manage waste just like toll tax. Govt can't/won't manage. Garbage management needs serious attention.

@akashnegi_11 Maybe not from 2000, maybe not even Dehradun pic, maybe a WhatsApp fwd, how does that take away from the fact fact that the city is destroyed beyond recognition? Only property dealers n thekedars are happy with the way uttarakhand and Dehradun in particular is turning out.

@thw4u Netas have some kind of spell over them. All want public to eat dust quite literally by cutting down greenery. And all want to stay in power come what may. No thoughts for public good. God only save us.

What grudge do these people have against trees? At the Pune Mayor’s bungalow, branches have been chopped off so brutally that only trunks remain. Officials have no explanation for why these trees were cut — and that ignorance is even more alarming. In peak summer, the bungalow’s green cover has vanished, leaving it barren and lifeless.
