@agar_john I don’t mind getting a tackle. I also wouldn’t mind getting someone like Ioane to be a mauler on the inside of the line and add a tackle in the 2nd round. Or potentially trade into the end of the 1st if a tackle slides. The edge options just don’t look great after the top 10

@JimCosta_ Jumped the gun how? There’s no salary cap, so who cares how much you pay a guy. If you can lock young talent up for multiple years, you do it. There’s no downside

@DogKleiman @JimCosta_ Drafting strictly for talent makes sense…when you aren’t an actual contender. The lions have a window to compete right now so they can afford to focus more short-term in the draft. If there is a starting-caliber player available in a position of need, you have to prioritize that

@The_real_colin @JimCosta_ It’s not really a secret though. Other GMs can see who they have on the roster. It’s pretty easy to guess that a team with one edge player might try to draft some other edge players. Same goes for tackles

@pistons_jack Playoff experience still matters. It’s really unlikely this team goes from zero playoff series wins to a Finals team. It could happen, the Knicks and Celtics will hopefully beat each other up. But it’s less likely than a team like the Celtics getting there this year

@BillSimmons There’s a large talent pool in the women’s game right now though. Plus growing interest from fans. The complaint from owners has always been they haven’t received any return on their initial investments, so they are less willing to share revenue. Maybe expansion fees will help

The WNBA and NBA Board of Governors have formally approved WNBA expansion teams in Cleveland, Detroit and Philadelphia. Cleveland will begin play in 2028, Detroit in 2029 and Philadelphia in 2030.
