@JPGroves What a bad idea. @JTOutlaw1 I think that's a foregone conclusion; a) there would be no district implications, and b) why would Cruces want to play (and risk losing) to 5A team? Mayfield was still competitive in 6A, giving #1 VV, Carlsbad and Cruces all a run for their money.

The NMAA has approved its classification alignment for 2020-2022. It includes Mayfield football dropping to Class 5A. Member schools have the ability to appeal next Friday. Mayfield would be in the same district as Chaparral, Deming and Santa Teresa
