A primary goal of this new facility is to avoid the ad-hoc and frequently cherry-picked data aggregation that plagues much research in the field, making it difficult for specialists and non-specialists alike to determine what has been established and what has not.

Magical thinking reBallot-Marking-Device contingency plans: There is an inherent problem with BMDs: they can change votes in a way that will survive any audit or recount. Not only is there “no simple solution” to this problem, there’s no solution period. freedom-to-tinker.com/2022/07/21/mag…

If you follow my account, you may have ended up with the mistaken impression that electronic voting systems are secure. That’s actually just an unfortunate side effect of having to push back on the completely nonsensical claims that have been embraced by the Big Lie crowds

RWL RIP: Bob Lucky was my boss at Bellcore. He presided over divestiture, Internet rollout, and gave us the freedom to develop and deploy the first e-commerce platforms oftentimes running right up to (and a little over) Judge Green’s order. One of a kind. app.com/obituaries/asb…

I'm trying to setup custom hotkeys/keyboard shortcuts for certain characters I use often—because typing Alt+0151 every time I want an em dash is getting old, and there are other characters I use a lot that are annoying to pull up via the Special Symbols menu. Any ideas?
