I tried to resist but couldn't help but buy another Indy Laphroaig.

Six years ago today, “15 Days to Slow the Spread” began, and in many ways it never really ended. Covid Karens never snapped out of it and stand as a constant reminder of how deeply fear, hysteria, and coercion were drilled into society.
It is worth remembering not only that the whole thing was a deliberate lie from day one, as Deborah Birx later admitted they had zero evidence about anything and were just making stuff up to get Trump to agree, but also that the worst policies were buried in the fine print, hoping Trump would not notice.
They literally printed a glossy brochure and hid the operative part in a tiny footnote on the back page, specifically the part ordering the closure not just of schools, but also of shops, malls, gyms, bars, restaurants, and every indoor and outdoor venue where people might gather. The whole thing was a massive crime against humanity, and no one has ever been held to account.

Reports suggest the United States could deploy the A-10 Thunderbolt II — the legendary “Warthog” — against Iranian Revolutionary Guard and Basij units as the conflict intensifies.
The A-10 is built for one purpose: destroying ground forces.
Armed with its devastating 30mm GAU-8 cannon, the aircraft was designed to hunt tanks, vehicles, and entrenched troops — delivering overwhelming close-air support on the battlefield.
If deployed against regime forces, the Warthog would signal a shift toward direct pressure on Iran’s military and paramilitary units on the ground.
The aircraft’s reputation is well known:

A girl is walking home through her quiet neighborhood in the Midwest. The sky behind her is dark and swirling. She casually records with her phone while two massive tornadoes twist across the horizon in the background. Power lines are shaking, debris is starting to lift, and yet she keeps filming as she walks, almost like she’s documenting history in real time.
People in the Midwest grow up around severe storms, so sometimes they seem almost calm around things that would terrify others. But two tornadoes that size is nothing to play with, nature can turn dangerous in seconds. Storm awareness and getting to safety should always come first.

Sitting with that knowledge while watching these Games was not easy — but being present for them, surrounded by people who truly cared about John and Matty, made it something we will always treasure. Every person we encountered took the time to ask about the boys — who they were, what they meant to us, the kind of people they were away from the ice. What struck us most was realizing that John and Matty's impact reaches so much further than we sometimes see in our own grief. They are carried by so many people — in locker rooms, in conversations, in quiet moments we will never even know about. That means everything to us. And then Team USA won gold. When Zach, Auston, and Matthew carried John's jersey around that ice, we were overwhelmed — they made sure he was there. And then to see Noa and Johnny — on Johnny's second birthday — carried out onto the ice to be part of that gold medal photo — there are no words for what that felt like.
