Built around 1450 under Emperor Pachacuti, the “Lost City of the Incas” is one of the greatest engineering feats in history. Set high in the Andes at 2,430 meters above sea level, it served as a royal retreat and astronomical center. The Spanish never discovered it, and it remained largely unknown to the outside world until Hiram Bingham brought global attention to it in 1911. Today, it stands as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the New Seven Wonders of the World, an immortal legacy of Inca civilization. Machu Picchu 🇵🇪📍
