Against my better judgement, I’m going to turn out in a few charity games this season. The bowling will be gentle (knee replacement etc) & the batting be a lottery! But given myself the best chance thanks to the best gear in the business. @graynics

@nmartyn25 @ECB_cricket @BumbleCricket Shocking decision which affects the very people who have kept club cricket going for decades. Get to 50 and they discard you. 15k to support 50s cricket, they have never supported 60+ cricket and they talk about inclusion and cricket for all. Shameless.

Strange to see the @ECB_cricket pulling funding for the 50+ County Championship cricket . Surely it has to be a tiny slice of a very big pie ! What do you think @BumbleCricket ?

@TheTeesra @ECB_cricket I agree club cricket is so important to player retention as we approach the veteran stage, my objection is to the claim of inclusion. Ageism is too easily overlooked. Imagine the fuss if they removed support from any other area. We need equality.

Almost without exception, those who play for these age groups have been the very volunteers the ECB rely on. Running clubs, coaching youth, doing pitches yet reach to 49 the ECB cut you adrift.

I couldn’t quite believe my eyes when I saw this email from @ECB_cricket saying they can’t support the 50+ comp any longer. Pathetic really in the grand scheme of things! @BumbleCricket @Phil_Wisden @CountiesEngland
