At this point, I think it’s time people started acknowledging a simple fact: It wasn’t Mohandas Gandhi who won us our freedom. It was Chandrashekhar Azad, Ram Prasad Bismil, Lala Lajpat Rai, Bhagat Singh But above all, Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, who had the courage and the will to fight the real fight. (The Indian National Army & The 1946 Royal Indian Navy Mutiny) If you watched the CJP protest, you’d realize one thing: hunger strikes and marches don’t always get you anywhere. History has repeatedly shown that freedom and meaningful change don’t come from symbolism alone they have to be fought for.

The Bihar government has announced that it will not take any punitive or retaliatory legal action against individuals involved in protests anywhere in Bihar prior to 6:00 PM on July 26. It will also initiate the withdrawal of all FIRs, criminal complaints and show-cause notices linked to the protests, release all those arrested or detained in such cases, and ensure no future action is taken against the protesters.
