@MikeBartner embracing a rebuild is tough for a team used to winning. we don’t wanna win one championship then fade out. we wanna become a dynasty again and slow and steady is the only way to do that
English

I’m not going to sit here and say Davidson’s plan is awesome and they’ll be a contender soon, but look at what Bowman did to that team at the end (mainly the Jones deal and extension).
He had to go about as NUCLEAR as you’ll ever seen in a rebuild. Should get another 2 years.

No playoffs. Blackhawks have finished 7th, 8th, 8th, 8th, and 8th in the Central Division since Kyle Davidson was promoted to GM.

This guy is supposed to be next Crosby/Ovi we’re so cooked bro💔

There are plenty of worthy MVP candidates this year, but it could be hard to deny Macklin Celebrini should he carry the Sharks to the post-season.
@amato_mike breaks down why the sophomore's case for the Hart Trophy is no overreaction. sportsnet.ca/nhl/article/su…
English

@coltondachcom I was talking bout the sharks broadcast. they talk shit about Connor bedard to make Celebrini seem better than him. their rivalry is the future of the game, it’s important to keep it healthy, especially when you’re a tv broadcaster
English

@rileyytravis im not saying ones better than the other, i like them both and they are both actually friends i think theyre both great players and they shouldnt be compared to one another until both teams are at the same level if even ever🤷🏻♀️
English

@MikeBartner if you take the interpretation too literally, it makes the MVP no longer the MVP
English

@Airsuzuki @TheFinFactor I’m not saying he shouldn’t be considered, he just shouldn’t be a finalist. Mackinnon is leading the Avs, who only lost one regulation game for almost the entire first half of the year, Kucherov has had like 5 points a night since January and Mcdavids the points leader
English

@rileyytravis @TheFinFactor Take him off of the team, and consider how many points the team has this season. No one thought they'd make the playoffs, even in a weak west. If they make it, he has to be considered.
English

Some commenters confusing Hart with Art Ross.
Macklin doesn’t have the supporting cast Kucherov, MacKinnon, or McDavid have. Look at their next closest teammate. He is undoubtedly more essential to #thefutureisteal than those with star teammates are to their respective teams.
SleeperNHL@SleeperNHL
True or false: Macklin Celebrini should win the Hart Trophy if the Sharks make the Stanley Cup Playoffs 🤔
English

@Airsuzuki @TheFinFactor it’s a precedent. just like how the Conn Smythe winner always goes to someone on the winning team. How is he that valuable if his team is still just average
English

@rileyytravis @TheFinFactor There’s no criteria that says that. Just take the award at face value, “most valuable”
English

@CHGO_Blackhawks hey we made it to April this time before getting eliminated! that’s decent progress considering how many games Bedard and Nazar missed
English

@mikeybrini they act like Bedsy wasn’t better than him before his injury like
English

news flash: connor bedard is a forward on the chicago blackhawks, not the san jose sharks
simcha@sharkscharmer
these connor bedard endings are so refreshing
English

@sharkscharmer Bedsy was better than Celebrini before his injury this season
English

@MikeBartner if they were where the Sabres or Penguins are, sure. But no one’s really bad this year except Vancouver. finishing sub 90 points isn’t good enough
English

Most common response to this will be: “West is so shit that they SHOULD make it”
My guy they were a 52 point team last year and their big offseason adds were Orlov, Ned, Goodrow, Klingberg and Reaves.
Mike Bartner@MikeBartner
I think the Celebrini should win the Hart “if they make the playoffs” qualifier is pretty stupid. If you think he is the most valuable player to his team, he should be your Hart pick. Finishing with 1 more or less point than like LA should not dramatically shift your view.
English

@ice011172 @barstoolsports I think it’s exactly on schedule. them and the hawks are making progress and developing their young players. a lot of teams are decent this year
English

@rileyytravis @barstoolsports They’re turnaround is ahead schedule and while I agree the hart can’t go to a player whose team misses the playoffs Celebrini is definitely doing more with less than those other guys…..
English

It Would Be A Crime Against Humanity At This Point If Macklin Celebrini Doesn't Win The Hart Trophy s.barstool.link/c/article-3566…
