VTubers, does anyone else do a "vibe check" before collabing ON STREAM with someone you don't know at all? Don't know if I'm paranoid, but I always ask to call/hop on a game a couple days before a collab to see if we vibe with each other, or if there's any awkward tension that we could dissolve before we actually stream together. Anyone else do this?

@Jeyraident Oh no!! I'm sorry that happened to you :(( I think I'm super scared of overwhelming the other person,, I know my energy tends to be really loud as well, so sometimes it can be overstimulating aaaaaaa 🫂

@rinamizuu I definitely do this, going into a collab blind without knowing the people that is involved could be scary, because I had this one time where the collab was too overwhelming and I had to leave after 30 minutes...😵‍💫 But it's very valid for you to do that!! 🫂

@AngelNaomiYay I think for me it's just giving them a plan, then reaching out with said plan!! It also helps being apart of their community for a bit and letting them get to know you as a person:)

@Its_Ryuhebi I've collabed with some people I didn't know before, but I talked with them or hopped on a random game to just chitchat a little and break the ice. I'm always up to make new friends or even just talk to people, but I always take care to do it safely, of course :>

@rinamizuu When I have “collabed” yes. But I was not aware they thought it was a collab. If I’m going to collab with someone, I’d want to get to know them off stream (at least while I’m offline) before doing an official collab

@rinamizuu Yeahh I think it's totally reasonable to call pre-collab. I do also think there's a lot of people that are different off stream than on so the whole pre-vet potential raids other people have been mentioning are pretty important too

@rinamizuu I've never done a stream with another person before, but if I did you can be sure I'd be vetting first. Gotta make sure everything sounds fine, not to mention ensuring that you gel with the other person.

Yeah! To be honest, from my experience, sometimes even if we don't mesh in game, the person's company is always the best!! On the other hand, when we mesh well in game, but not personality wise, I do my best to find topics or humor that we both agree on;; That's why I think these "before" calls are super important :0

@rinamizuu It is something I always suggest with anyone I reach out to. Always want to make sure we mesh together alright in a game/call before subjecting either side's viewers to that shit show. 💀

@rinamizuu 100% agreed! I’m a bit anxious of meeting new people, so the thought of potentially feeling „trapped“ with someone I don’t feel comfortable with for a couple of hours scares me.

@rinamizuu i kind feel this is necessary, theres a lot of people out there who get an audience despite not being a good person and sometimes its just gut feeling about people, i havent gone through it much but theres 100% been times where ive got the spidey sense about people beforehand
