If you guys were wondering, in regards to Hsin's quote, here's an example of this by Wang Zhihuan. It talks about a border fortress that is cut off from aid but still upholds it's noble duty:

origin of the poem:朝月清辉照孤城 literally,early moon clear light shine lonly city→fortified town usually in cn language,孤城 is used to mean a fortified town that is cut off from outside help,desperately struggling. so i guess she's just feigning an air of effortless ease.
