@billoram Losing the team and the jobs that comes with it will no doubt hurt Portland’s economy. It would be insane for Portland to not come through and be a big blow to the economy and to its future plans of growing the city

@billoram Thanks for the article. Itcomes down to, does Portland pay for the renovations or not..I think we all know that? Feels like you are insinuating on both sides of the argument? End of the day, renovating will be done as you stated. Hard to think Portland politicians don’t see that

Based on the response to my detailing of the shaky future of the Trail Blazers and the franchise’s likely exit if the Moda Center proposal falls through, there are a few misconceptions, half-truths and outright lies that I think need to be cleared up. oregonlive.com/blazers/2026/0…

You must be new to the bandwagon. The Mariners went to the ALCS last season.

@BenRanieri10 It falls on the manager to make the right decisions. I dont recall Dan making manny of those in his tenure so far

It’s so infuriating how every game the Mariners stack the lefties, and every game the opposing manager puts a lefty in the 6th inning to empty the Mariners’ bench. Which effectively gives away all of the 8th-9th inning ABs because we have Connor Joe and Rob Refsnyder against righties. Get a clue, man

This one to me is the right choice. I understand wanting to retroactively go back and send him out there though. So many times we have seen Logan’s outings fall apart at the very end. Sometimes when a guy has struggled you just need to get him out at a non-perfect time and give him some confidence going into the next one. Not sending Logan out for the 7th also isn’t why you lost the game. You scored one run.

Understand the matchups but at 84 pitches there’s not a world where he could have thrown in the seventh?

Thoughts on the Blazers interviewing Ben Sullivan for the vacant head coach position? He's been as assistant for some notable head coaches — but the Rockets vs Lakers series showed a big problem with halfcourt offense, which the Blazers already struggle with at times.
Michael Scotto@MikeAScotto

Sources: The Blazers interviewed Rockets assistant Ben Sullivan for their head coaching job. He interviewed for the Suns last summer. He’s been an assistant for Ime Udoka (Rockets/Celtics), Joe Mazzulla and Mike Budenholzer (Bucks/Hawks). He played for the University of Portland.

@patrici50241513 @BlazersLead At that point, every set of eyeballs in the nba had plenty of tape in avdija. Schmitz didn’t do some secret scouting nobody else saw

@patrici50241513 @BlazersLead For sure and I’m not saying he’s a bad choice. I’m sure he’s talented. If you look at what we gave up for Avdija, in the blazer position at the time I think most GMs pull the trigger in that trade. I don’t think there was much depth behind the thought process there.

Was initially bummed about the Mavericks scooping up Schmitz, but thinking about it harder and hearing some takes from everyone else, definitely changing my mind Blazers Draft Picks since Schmitz was hired: - Shaedon Sharpe (No. 7) - Scoot Henderson (No. 3) - Kris Murray (No. 23) - Rayan Rupert (No. 43) - Donovan Clingan (No. 7) - Yang Hansen (No. 16) What are your thoughts on the Mike Schmitz experience?

@patrici50241513 @BlazersLead I’m not saying you should be mad about the hire but sometimes evaluations don’t work out. Not 1 of the draft picks in Portland ag e panned out accept for Clingan

@patrici50241513 @BlazersLead Name a good pick from the blazers nobody saw coming. Dont say clingan that was #7 in a shitty draft. Scoot at 3? Every organization would’ve made that pick. Shaedon? Doesn’t look like anything special. His other picks are Murray, Rupert, yang… I’d say he might’ve had zero impact

And also, the more he continues to expose himself at SS, the more likely he ends up in a situation where nobody in their right mind will sign him to play the only position he’s ever played
Alex Bryant@alexbryant32

@MarinerMuse Jerry thinks he’s doing the right thing for JP here when in reality he’s setting him up for failure in the playoffs his defense will lose us a series and that’ll be the last thing fan will remember JP for

For the record I think a six man rotation makes no sense with the injuries in the bullpen currently. It’s a hard decision but you have to make one. Send Miller or Castillo to the bullpen until they need to make a spot start, or provide rotational depth.

Question is, who would be the two to go? (Assuming a world where they decide to bring Kade up) I know there’s been a discussion on X about Castillo but who else falls victim?
SleeperMLB@SleeperMLB

The Mariners need to trade for a bat - The rotation is WAY TOO DEEP. Logan Gilbert Bryan Woo George Kirby Emerson Hancock Bryce Miller (IL) Luis Castillo (I guess) Oh, and then they also have Kade Anderson waiting in AA with: 24.1 IP 0.37 ERA 😱 38 Strikeouts 😱

@TyDaneGonzalez And JP is slashing what? He isn’t going to be worse on offense than JP. JP is borderline unplayable at SS. Blew a tag at 2nd…moved at a snails pace to turn a much needed double play. A change has to be made

Colt Emerson is slashing .188/.308/.469 with a 35.3% strikeout rate since returning to the Rainiers' lineup from his wrist injury on April 24. He'd obviously likely be a major help defensively, but in the end, you still have to do what's right by the player, especially one the Mariners have now heavily invested in long-term. Calling him up while he's struggling at the plate (and still potentially managing an injury) and the team is struggling as a whole would not be doing right by the player. He's just not a good option right now.
