Hidden in plain sight inside Ripon Cathedral is something you might not expect... A massive iron girder spanning the width of the transept. Added in the 1860s by George Gilbert Scott to stabilise the central tower - and without it, the cathedral might not still be standing today.

Chorister places in our Boys Choir and Girls Choir are available from Sept this year The separate boys and girls choirs play a special role in leading worship at services once or twice on weekdays and alternate Sundays, as well as performing in concerts and special services
