“You need to keep the club out in front of you, we need to fix that flying elbow otherwise you’ll get stuck” You sure? 🧐

5. Anchoring - The pros are anchored to how far they hit it now, especially the magic 300 number. I find it impossible to believe they’re not going to do everything they can to maintain that. This accelerates the athletic/distance push, not stops it.

4. Marketing - I’m 24, the game has gone bananas in my age group, why? Distance plays a huge part. Bryson hitting it 350 appeals, Rory flushing it appeals, taking 30 yards off everyone does not. Grow the game? Apparently not.

3 cont’d. The on-ramp to professional golf is hard enough, I wouldn’t suggest making it any harder for the youngsters coming up.

3. It ruins almost elite amateur golf - you’re an amateur golfer, you have aspirations, you’re supposed to be mastering 1 SKILL - GOLF. Now you’ve gotta practice two types of golf?! The one you play now with the am ball and the one you will play with the pro ball.

2. Learning 1 ball is hard enough, learning 2 is madness - every pro will tell you the ball is the most important piece of equipment. A pro would not even dream of using a non-premium ball because it performs so differently, yes they’d be expected to perform with two?

1. Every single pro on Earth has amateur golfer mates, the beauty of this game is that we can all play with the same ball, same equipment and have a perfectly competitive game with the handicap system. Bifurcation would ruin this.

The GREAT British weather just won’t go away 👍🏻 I would say it’s nice to be hitting off grass after a couple of days of shut courses but it’s more like mud. Still, helps me work on getting good contact without taking too much divot, good for low point control 💪🏻 #golf #golfing

What would happen if you applied ‘Get Rich for sure’ rather than ‘Get Rich Quick’ thinking to your golf? If, rather than quick fixes, you did the things daily that would make failing to reach your golfing goals unreasonable.

For every one guy you see on Tour who has a unique tendency, there’s hundreds that do it a simpler way. An example would be Matt Fitzpatrick’s very inside takeaway. He’s incredible with it, most wouldn’t be.

Practice off grass as opposed to mats whenever you can. Mats can hide issues with your strike.

As a coach, I can put down the tracks. But as a player, you have to be the engine that powers the train.

Get a gapping session done on your clubs. Finding out how far you actually hit your clubs might give your ego a hit but it’ll make you better at golf.

Hand depth in the backswing can be so important to swinging freely in the downswing. Too much or too little and you’ll have to make compensations from the top.

The solution is more often than not in setup or early in the swing, even if the issue shows itself up later at impact.
