The Sunday Telegraph has reported that the government will change the law to allow recover operators to use red lights on smart motorways. This would be a massive win for CSRRR after more than two years of campaigning in parliament and the media. 1/ telegraph.co.uk/politics/2020/…

This is a landmark achievement for the campaign and for the industry, but the law has not been changed yet. We will now keep up the pressure to ensure the change is implemented, and continue to push for the use of red lights across the strategic road network. Ends/

Good news! @GeorgeFreemanMP has just told Commons that Gov is minded to change traffic regs to allow Roadside Rescue & Recovery Industry to use red lights instead of amber. A huge step forward for the campaign by my constituent Sam & @SaferRoadside
