Did you know that Microsoft Windows 11 collects telemetry from your computer 24/7? They collect quite a bit of data, even if you uncheck all the boxes during installation. Some of the data includes the names of applications you open, the names of files you click or open, the duration of their usage, and your activity level while using them. 😱 Personally, I don't believe Microsoft needs to know when I open certain files or how long I spend on them. 😎 If you want to completely disable telemetry to stop data uploading, follow these steps. Also, repeat these steps after every Windows Update version change, as they may accidentally re-enable telemetry. 🙄 To disable telemetry, follow these steps: 1) Open Elevated Powershell Console 2) Set-ItemProperty -Path "HKLM:\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\DataCollection" -Name "AllowTelemetry" -Type DWord -Value 0 3) Set-ItemProperty -Path "HKLM:\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\DataCollection" -Name "AllowDeviceNameInTelemetry" -Type DWord -Value 0 4) Set-ItemProperty -Path "HKLM:\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\DataCollection" -Name "AllowTelemetry" -Type DWord -Value 0 5) Set-ItemProperty -Path "HKLM:\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\DataCollection" -Name "AllowTelemetry" -Type DWord -Value 0 6) Get-Service -Name "DiagTrack" | Stop-Service -NoWait -Force 7) Get-Service -Name "DiagTrack" | set-service -StartupType Disabled After running commands 2 through 7 and rebooting your computer, the DiagTrack service will be offline, preventing data collection and transmission to Microsoft. The collector services will also use less precise data if they collect anything on the client side. Did you know that by default Microsoft Windows 11 defender will randomly send samples of files on your PC to Microsoft for virus/malware analysis? This can include files that contain personal information you might not want living for eternity on a Microsoft servers that one day gets hacked... 😎 How to disable it... 1) Open PowerShell (elevated) 2) Type "Set-MpPreference -SubmitSamplesConsent NeverSend" and ENTER Now Windows Defender can't just randomly collect file samples on your PC for further analysis without physically prompting you and asking first. No matter how much Microsoft claims they don't collect personal data they absolutely do when they sample a file that contains personal data and then store it in their database for eternity that could get hacked one day. I really wish we could get some legislation passed making these gambling games abide by the same rules as casinos so they can’t target children anymore & can’t be played by kids. Children are way more vulnerable to gambling & I wish YouTubers would just research their sponsors 🤦‍♂️
