Just published! My latest paper looking at gender differences in mobility. One could say this is a paper that I have been trying to write for the last 7 years, but only with the Time Use Survey released in 2020 could I confidently do this analysis. 1/n tinyurl.com/yyjdtv5c

How does a job loss affect couples' fertility? If women lose their job, a birth is less likely to happen for at least 5 years. If men lose their job, the effect is smaller. In an open access article on @JMF_NCFR, Oliver Lipps and I show new evidence for the UK and Germany.

My first #PhD paper is now out in @PNASNews!🔥We show that low-esteem in adolescence and limited increase thereof over three decades(!) is linked to more opposition to immigration, gender equality, and social equality in midlife. Main findings in the 🧵1/7 pnas.org/doi/10.1073/pn…

UK stole $45 trillion from India during 1765 to 1938, still India overtook UK’s GDP this year. $45 trillion is 14 times more than the annual GDP of the UK today. They’d apologize and accept they owe reparations to India and other countries they colonized. cadtm.org/spip.php?page=…

The British stole an estimated $45 trillion from India 🇮🇳 between 1765 and 1938. Economist Utsa Patnaik explains how British colonizers drained India of its former wealth. Dont ever buy the lie that colonialism was good for India. @ravikarkara

NEW: income inequality in US & UK is so wide that while the richest are very well off, the poorest have a worse standard of living than the poorest in countries like Slovenia ft.com/content/ef2654… Essentially, US & UK are poor societies with some very rich people. A thread:
