Why do you expect employers to be loyal towards employees when employees show no loyalty towards employers and are happy to switch jobs whenever anyone else gives them a salary hike?

Just spoke to my senior who got laid off from Oracle one day ago. He was earning 50 LPA as a Principal Software Engineer. Spent 13 years at Oracle. 6 months ago, he moved his elderly parents to Bangalore to stay with him. Rented a bigger apartment. ₹80k per month. Just two weeks ago, he received a spot award for his leadership. Yesterday evening. No meeting. No warning. Just an automated email from HR saying his role was eliminated. He has two children. one in preparing for JEE and another one in college. He didn't cry. He just went quiet and said, What do I tell to my father? 13 years of loyalty. 50 LPA to zero in one email. And companies still write "People First" in their job posts. Hypocrites.
