thinking about what the internet was like when justin bieber uploaded that first cover. youtube was three years old. twitter was two. instagram didn’t exist yet. tiktok wouldn’t exist for another decade. there were no “creators.” there was no creator economy. there was no algorithm feeding you a personalized slurry of content engineered to keep you scrolling for eleven more seconds. there was jus a website where people put videos, and sometimes those videos reached everyone and changed the creators life. this performance is a memorial for the internet we lost.

Tapi privilege.

At this point, we might not have WFH and lockdown if it was PH the one who handled the Covid last time. There's no way they stand against the employers and the rich class.

You all took a month and a half to enable WFH for public sector and merely a recommendation to do the same for private sector. Blanket WFH would reduce fuel consumption by at least 50% and extend supplies for medical and emergency services, essential transport and logistics.

Do you understand what this really means? TLDR: Hannah, we don’t need coffee discounts. We need real solutions. Zus is sus. The government thinks giving RM5 Zus Coffee will make us wake up even earlier, drive into KL between 7-8am, and magically fix the massive morning jam. Let’s be real: • Many of us already wake up at 5am or 6am just to beat traffic. Now they want us up even earlier? • you still have to pay RM5 (it is not free) • Even if some do it, will it actually ease congestion? And here’s the real question: How much is Zus benefiting? • 250 outlets get free government promo to 1.2 million daily commuters • Massive free advertising every morning • More people forced to download their app for the “discount” Net effect: • We wake up earlier • still pay for coffee • download their app • and the jam stays the same But Zus gets a huge marketing jackpot and more customers. This is pure wayang that helps big business more than it helps us stuck in traffic every day Save the coffee discount, Hannah. Focus on real fixes: better public transport, WFH, staggered hours. If Zus takes full advantage of this, we boycott them too. Thoughts?

Putrajaya has launched the behavioural initiative "Bangun Kuala Lumpur!" to ease KL's morning congestion. As part of the efforts, the Federal Territories Ministry, in partnership with Zus Coffee, will offer drinks as low as RM5 at 250 outlets for commuters travelling into the city between 7am and 8am. 🧵1

No you cannot hide behind “better than doing nothing” when you are the government and can mandate: Congestion charging, WFH, alternate day entry, immediate improvement to public transport, but instead your neoliberal pilled brain can only imagine things that help companies
