The world allowed Israel to mass slaughter in Gaza for almost a year. Israel learned it can get away with literally any atrocity against a territory it occupies. Now it’s testing out the Gaza method on Lebanon, an internationally recognized sovereign country. By standing by passively the world is telling Israel that in Lebanon they can do as they’ve done to Gaza. This won’t stay isolated to the Middle East. Israel’s methods will spread if Israel isn’t stopped.

Sara Hegazy, an Egyptian activist who had been persecuted in her country then found refuge in Canada, has died by suicide. Sara was arrested for waving the rainbow flag at a rock concert in 2017.

I met #SaraHegazy recently in Canada. She was clearly in pain, traumatized by her torture, suffering, and separated from her country, but very much wanting to turn a new page. It was too much to bear. Lest anyone have any doubt, the government of #Egypt killed her.
